Even though it is really easy to just go out and purchase one of the fancy brands of moisturizers, you actually have other alternatives. The natural moisturizer formulas have become really popular in the last couple of years and will probably continue to rise in popularity, as we become more focused on healthy and organic solutions.
The natural moisturizer however is not a new invention and women have been using things like olive oil ever since Roman Times.
There are a couple of different pros and cons to creating your own all organic moisturizer. First of all it can be really fun and will give you a totally new perspective on the things you have in your kitchen. Creating your own formula is also a relatively cheap solution and will save you money in the long run.
The cons of doing so is that it is not a very practical long term solution and that it is quite time consuming. However, we can definitely recommend you to at least try a couple of times and even if you don’t continue this practice, you will have some fun doing so.
Natural moisturizer
The really cool thing about creating your own natural crèmes is that you don’t even have to go out and buy ingredients, in most cases you will have everything you need right there in your kitchen. One of the most well known treatments is using yoghurt. Yoghurt will give you really soft and moist skin while minimizing pores.
Don’t apply the yoghurt to your skin directly from the fridge as you will get goose bumps and chills all over your body! Leave this mask on for 5-15 minutes and then wash everything off, the results will speak for themselves.
If you are looking for a product that will really add moisture to your skin, olive oil is the preferred natural moisturizer. The great thing about olive oil is that even though it will really hydrate your skin, it doesn’t contain ingredients that will irritate your skin. This is a really great property as it will allow even people with sensitive skin to use it. Olive oil is not only great for your skin but can even be used as a hair conditioner.
Another really great cleansing product is honey. Honey as anti inflammatory properties and will actually kill germs and small infections on your skin and therefore it is a really proactive solution against redness and pimples. Make sure you wash your face and dry it completely.
Then you want to apply the honey in a relatively thick layer all over your face, while avoiding the eye and nose area. Let it sit there for at least 10 minutes and then wash everything off with warm water.
What is really great about the various types of natural moisturizer however is that you can combine them with traditional products. By doing so you get the best of both worlds and will have really beautiful and soft skin within just a couple of weeks.
